AMBO Urges Osun Residents to Remain Calm, Raises Alarm Over Alleged Attacks on APC Members

By Olawale Olayinka, Abeokuta

The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the just-concluded Osun State election, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO), has called on residents of the state to remain calm and peaceful following the outcome of the election.

Oyebamiji, in a message to APC supporters, members and leaders across the state, appreciated their commitment, sacrifices and support during the electioneering period, saying he remained grateful to all those who believed in the vision and prosperity agenda presented by his campaign.

The APC candidate acknowledged that his team had hoped for a different outcome but said the party respected the position of the electoral umpire while reviewing the results of the election.

He expressed appreciation to voters who supported his candidacy, as well as volunteers, party leaders and members who contributed to the success of the campaign.

According to him, although the election campaign had ended, the values and aspirations championed by his team remained alive, stressing that efforts would continue towards promoting effective, inclusive and rapid development of Osun State.

Oyebamiji urged his supporters to remain engaged, continue contributing positively to their communities and stay committed to the collective progress of the state.

However, he raised concerns over what he described as growing hostility and violence against APC members and supporters, alleging that attacks witnessed during the build-up to the election had taken another dimension in the aftermath of the poll.

He called on the Osun State Government and security agencies, particularly the Nigeria Police Force, to urgently intervene and prevent further escalation of violence.

Oyebamiji further appealed to all residents and party supporters to maintain peace as events continue to unfold, urging them to remain law-abiding while pursuing their political interests.

He thanked voters, supporters, party members and leaders for their dedication and confidence, adding that he remained proud of the campaign conducted by his team.
