In other to l improve healthcare delivery and raise the standard of living in Ayetoro, Yewa North Local Government the Heritage Club of Ayetoro (HCA) has completed the full renovation of the Labour Room section and Post-Natal Ward at the General Hospital, Ayetoro.
This was contained in a press statement signed by Adeyemi Musiliu ACA, General Secretary of Heritage Club of Ayetoro yesterday.
He explained that the Club, under the leadership of its President, Hon. Awaiyeti Sharafadeen Olamilekan, also donated hospital beds, pillows, and quality bedding materials to equip the newly renovated wards.
The official handover ceremony took place on Thursday, 28th May, 2026, a day after the Eid-el-Kabir celebration, with members of the Club present to formally hand over the facilities to the hospital management for the use of the Ayetoro community.
Notably, during the official presentation by the Club Ambassadors, a baby girl was safely delivered by a woman in the Labour Room, giving immediate and emotional significance to the Club’s intervention.
Speaking during the handover, the Vice President of the Club, Ambassador Sikiru Idowu Adelakun, stated that the project is part of the Club’s core strategy to drive community development and improve the human quality of life in Ayetoro.
"This intervention is one of the practical means we are using to ensure effective and dignified healthcare delivery for our mothers and newborns in Ayetoro," he said.
"The Heritage Club of Ayetoro believes that development must touch lives directly. A safe delivery space and a comfortable recovery ward are not luxuries — they are necessities. The birth of this baby girl during our visit is a powerful reminder of why we do this."
The Chief Medical Director of the General Hospital, Ayetoro, Dr. Koleola represented by Dr. Esther Oluwatosin Odeogbola, who received the items on behalf of the hospital, expressed profound gratitude to the Heritage Club of Ayetoro.
He described the gesture as timely and impactful, noting that the renovated Labour Room and Post-Natal Ward would significantly reduce maternal stress and improve patient outcomes.
"We are deeply grateful to the Heritage Club of Ayetoro. This is what community partnership looks like. Our mothers will now deliver in a more dignified environment, and our nurses can work better. The birth we witnessed today is the best commissioning we could ask for," the Doctor remarked.
The Heritage Club of Ayetoro reaffirmed its commitment to initiating and supporting projects that directly impact the health, education, and welfare of Ayetoro indigenes. The Club called on other sons and daughters of Ayetoro, home and abroad, to join hands in building a greater Ayetoro.
