Yewa South/Ipokia APC dropped Hon. Ajayi & Hon. Akinlade, endorse Bayo Orebiyi and Hon. Toyin Taiwo as consensus candidate.

The leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Yewa South/Ipokia Federal Constituency has endorsed Hon Bayo Orebiyi and Hon. Toyin Taiwo as the party’s consensus candidate for the 2027 House of Assembly and Federal House of Representatives Election.

The endorsement program was held on Sunday 3rd of May, 2026 at governors lodge Ilaro,Yewa South local government Ogun State.

The decision follow extensive consultation and engagement with the aspirants across the constituency. In the interest of equity, balance and party cohesion, leading aspirants from Ipokia Local Government have stepped down in support of Dr Toyin Taiwo.

The stakeholders noted that the federal house of representative seat is currently occupied by Hon Isiaq Abiodun Akinlade, who previously represented the constituency for the three consecutive terms between 2003 and 2015, and again since 2023. While acknowledging the experience and service, stakeholders emphasised that this extended occupancy has created an imbalance within Federal Constituency.

In view of this , and considering that the party's consensus for gubernatorial candidate has emerged from Yewa South, stakeholders resolved that, in the interest fairness and inclusiveness the federal house of representative seat should be zone to Ipokia Local Government and State House of Assembly for Yewa South State  Constituency should be zone to ifekowajo zone of Yewa South local government.. 

While commended Governor of Ogun State His Excellency Prince Dapo Abiodun for his exemplary leadership, commitment to inclusiveness and his role in fostering unity within the party.

According to Hon. Soji Odedina aspirants, Hon. Olateju Tosin aspirants appreciate all the leaders and members of All Progressive Congress APC for there steadfastness in bringing everyone together. While promised to work with the party and fully ready to support all the consensus candidates.
