Ogun traditional ruler yesterday congratulates faithful Muslim and Christian in the world on the commencement of the 2026 Ramadan and Lenten fasts.
Oba Sufianu Adisa Jolaosho, Olu of Wasinmi Land stated this in a press statement signed by Olayinka Olawale special adviser on media and publicity.
The monarch said abstinence from food and worldly pleasures reflects a deep desire to draw closer to God, seek divine guidance, and pray for the growth and development of families, communities, Ogun State and Nigeria at large.

He said both Ramadan and Lent began same period, stressing that the coincidence underscored the shared values of faith, sacrifice, charity and good works among Muslims and Christians globally.
According to him, the prayers and supplications offered during the fasting season would strengthen Wasinmi and environs, Ewekoro local government Ogun State and the nation spiritually.
“I congratulate our Muslim and Christian brothers on the commencement of Ramadan and Lent season, respectively,” Oba Jolaosho said.
