Ahead Of 2027 Ogun West Governorship Agenda: Oba Olugbenle leads strategic royal engagement with Awori Obas forum

By: Miracle Okiro, Abeokuta

His Royal Majesty, Alayeluwa Oba (Dr.) Kehinde Gbadewole Olugbenle, the Olu Ilaro, Paramount Ruler of Yewaland and Chairman of the Ogun State Council of Obas, yesterday led a high-level delegation of Yewa Obas to a strategic royal engagement with Awori Obas Forum, at the Palace of the Olota of Ota, to deliberate on Ogun 2027 and the Ogun West Agenda.

This was contained in a press statement signed by Adeola Adeyemi, Special Assistant to the Paramount Ruler of Yewa land on Media and Strategic Communications in Ilaro

The closed-door meeting followed the recent visit of the Olota of Ota, Oba Prof. Abdulkadir Adeyemi Obalanlege, to the Palace of the Olu Ilaro and Paramount Ruler of Yewaland. The engagement convened royal fathers from Yewa-Awori extraction in a renewed demonstration of unity and collective commitment towards the realisation of the district’s longstanding political aspiration ahead of the 2027 governorship election.

The meeting resolved to ensure that the interests of the majority of the good people of Ogun West and the larger Ogun State are represented through the selection of the most capable, credible, trusted, and widely acceptable candidate from the district by any political party for the 2027 governorship election.

The monarchs, in one accord, agreed to rally the people towards supporting a single candidate in the next election, while respecting the interests of other aspirants.

While further specifics of the meeting remain confidential, the gathering reaffirms the shared resolve of the traditional rulers to use their voice and the trust of their people for the collective aspiration of Ogun West to produce the next Governor of the Gateway State in 2027.

His Majesty, Oba Olugbenle, remains committed to the actualisation of this long-standing regional aspiration. Kabiyesi will continue to provide the much-needed leadership towards achieving this age-long dream

  1. It is good that YEWA are wooing the AWORIS, but the issue of Governorship in OGUN STATE can not be changed overnight, I continue to remind any one claiming that it is Ogun West turn to produce Ogun State Governor that without doing the needful, they may not achieve th3ir a aim, Two things has to be done or the alternative, the third thing, Before EGBA Province and IJEBU Province were merged to become Ogun State, each of the Two Provinces has Thr3 Local Governments each, Whereas Egbado now Yewa was one of the EGBA Province Local Governments, but for the spoiler game played by the Egbados in 1983, Their pronouncement that they are not Egbado , and has nothing to do with the Egbas, stands the bane of YEWA LOKAN IJEBU LO MA SE, YEWA LOKAN EGBA RE MA SE, Let me remind you that there was lesson in Politics that the Ijebus played, before 1 Civilian Governorship. was Conceded to Ijebu , with an agreement of 4 years single tenure, which Onabanjo violetted or extended to 2 terms per Province, , Le me also refer you to the provisions of the 1999 Constitution which enshrined clearly the purpose of creating 3 Senatorial Districts per State ( Section 71) I advise you to reach out to know the panacea to the Challenge 9068883345 is my Whatsapp number, Ask me I will back it up with documentary Evidences to support my submission, Thanks
