Member federal house of representatives, representing Ijebu North/Ijebu East/Ogun Waterside Federal Constituency has urged the electorates to vote princess Ayoola Elegbeji for Saturday election.
Hon. Joseph Folorunso Adegbesan, stated this in Sagamu during mega rally and endorsement for Princess Adesola Ayoola Elegbeji, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the forthcoming Ikenne/Sagamu/Remo Federal Constituency by-election.
The election, scheduled for Saturday, August 16, 2025, by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), will fill the seat left vacant by the late Hon. Adewumi Onanuga.
Speaking to newsmen, Adegbesan described the contest as “more than just replacing a lawmaker,” emphasising that it was crucial to sustain the political synergy between Ogun State under Governor Dapo Abiodun and the Federal Government. He cautioned that electing the wrong candidate could slow down the constituency’s progress.
“Remo must uphold its legacy as the home of the late sage, Chief Obafemi Awolowo. We cannot allow people with questionable values to speak for us in Abuja. Elegbeji embodies the integrity, discipline, and service our people cherish,” he said.
The lawmaker lauded Elegbeji’s qualifications, noting her experience, competence, and readiness to build on the achievements of her predecessor. He pledged his full support to ensure she delivers quality representation if elected.
Adegbesan also commended Governor Dapo Abiodun’s record of delivering impactful projects, stressing that a cohesive APC presence in the National Assembly would give Ogun State a stronger voice on the national stage.
“We must give the Governor the complete team he needs. On Saturday, let us turn out in large numbers, vote APC, and send Elegbeji to Abuja. She is the right choice for Remo,” Adegbesan declared.
