The Ogun State Government has assured people of the state of availability of agric mechanize tools and conducive environment that would aids promotion of agricultural business in the state.
The State Commissioner for Agriculture and Rural Development, Dr. Adeola Odedina gave the assurance during the opening of a two day agricultural exhibition show tagged "showcasing the business opportunities in Yewaland (agricultural sector)" organized by Yewa Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (YECCIMA) held at Empire field in Ilaro, Yewa South Local Government of the State.
Represented by the Director of Planning, Research and Statistics from the Ministry, Alhaji Ibrahim Alao, the agric commissioner while congratulating YECCIMA and people of the area for the success of the event posited that, the state government would give the organization necessary support towards making the agriculture exhibition show an annual event.
Speaking earlier, the President of the chamber, Otunba Wasiu Taiwo said that, with government continued support, especially via provision of enabling business environment, Ogun West and the state at large would continue to grow in leaps and bounds in terms of socio-economic development.
Otunba Taiwo pointed out that, the choice of the exhibition theme was in recognition of the fact that the present administration in the state led by Prince Dapo Abiodun was doing everything possible to raise the agriculture development profile of the state as evident in the numerous agriculture programmes and projects embarked upon by the state government for sustainable food security, industrial and economic development.
He affirmed that the chamber was committed to effectively collaborate with the state government towards achieving its set goals.
On his own, the Chairman of the event committee, Dr. Idris Tunde Allinson, while given vote of thanks at the event said that, the event was organized to replicate in the area what has been happening at the national and state level of the chamber and to showcase and promote agricultural businesses in Yewaland which would impacted positively on the indigenous farmers in the area.
Dr. Allinson enjoined farmers across the region to take advantage of the exhibition which according to him would avail them the opportunity to meet and make more customers especially big companies from outside Yewa for their farm products.
