OLUGBENLE COMMENDS FPI ALUMNI FOR GIVEN BACK TO SOCIETY

The Olu of Ilaro and Paramount ruler of Yewaland, Oba Dr.  Kehinde Olugbenle has commended the Federal Polytechnic Ilaro, UK Alumni for given back to society and making the institution proud.

Oba Olugbenle who gave the commendation during the commissioning of borehole donated by FPI, UK Alumni for the benefit of students of the institution and wider members of Ilaro community at Moloni in Ilaro, appreciated the old students for finding solution to the pressing needs of both the students and people of the community.

Represented by Asoju Olu of Ilaro, Chief Mufutau Olabimtan, Oba Olugbenle while imploring members of the Alumni not to relent on their oars, called on current students of the institution and citizen of the town not to forget their root; adding that government alone cannot do it all.

On his own, the Rector of the institution, Dr. Mikhail Akinde who was represented by the Head of Department of public Administration, Dr. Olaitan Akinleke eulogized the effort of the Alumni at making life more meaningful for the students of the institution and people of its communities, stating that management, staff and students were proud of them.

He pointed out that authority of the institution would continue to support the Alumni which according to him would encourage them (Alumni) to do more for their Alma mater.

Speaking earlier, the President of the UK Alumni, Mr. Andrew Adegboye  Moradeyo represented by a member of the association, Mr.Toma Karma while appreciating the Paramount ruler and the Rector of the institution for their support, promised that the Alumni would not relent but, continue to do more via provision of social amenities that would enhance good academic performance of the students of the institution and make life more meaningful for members of Ilaro community.

The commissioning event which was anchored by the Secretary of Yewa Traditional Council, Pince Adegoke Olusoji was witnessed by Ekerin of Ilaro, Chief Sanu E. A; Basorun of Ilaro, Chief Adeyinka E. A; Seriki of Ilu-Ata, Chief  Babajide E. A and, Chief Musa Onasokun, among others.
