MINISTRY RESTATES COMMITMENT TO QUALITY JUSTICE DELIVERY

Ogun State Ministry of Justice has restated its commitment to improve quality justice delivery system in the State. 


The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Justice, Mr. Bamidele Adebayo stated this at a retreat for newly promoted top management Legal Officers with the theme: "The Effective Transformation for Managerial Responsibility in the Ministry of Justice, The Right Mindset for Effective Performance’’.


Mr. Adebayo said the Ministry had intensified efforts in raising the standard of justice delivery system, as people were provided with unhindered access to temple of justice, noting that the retreat would enable officers to collectively strategise and develop their managerial skills, as well as know their health status.


He expressed confidence that participants would maximise the opportunities embedded in the retreat to promote unity among the staff for the positive transformation of the justice system.


In his lecture titled: “The Right Mindset for Effective Performance’’, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Legal Matters, Mr. Vincent Osunfisan said growth mindset and right attitude among the management and other staff  would enhance effective performance, saying “attitude is the way we think, feel and behave about something, while mindset is the perception or believe we hold towards people or something’’.


Osunfisan added that part of what determines staff mindset and attitude was the understanding of the vision and mission of an organisation, know the roles which an individual is expected to perform and how to achieve them, imploring officers to inculcate transparency, trust, empathy, accountability, among others, in order to promote effective managerial skills and  productivity of the Ministry.


Speaking on behalf of the participants, the Assistant Director, Public Prosecution in the Ministry, Mrs. Abimbola Akisanya, appreciated the organiser for the retreat, expressing optimism that the knowledge gained would boost productivity of the officers and impact positively on justice delivery in the State
