The agents of Anambra Police Command have recently arrested two men suspected to have polluted and defiled a 11- month- old child and three different minors at Umudim Nnewi- North Local Government Area of the state in Nigeria.
A press articulation delivered by the police representative, DSP Ikenga Tochi on Monday 21st of March this year affirmed the arrest of the suspects.
' ' The Commissioner of Police CP Echeng Echeng today 21/3/2022 has admonished parents/guardians to be careful of who they leave the custody of their children/wards, following the outcome of the investigation of 4 children rescued by police operatives on a reported case of defilement in Umudimi, Nnewi. The Command Operatives swung into action and arrested the alleged two suspects namely: Peter Ezeala aged 61 from Mbano, Imo State and Mr Elochukwu Igwilo aged 27 from Ekwusigo LGA, Anambra State. ' ' The statement reads.
Further investigation uncovers that the mother of the people in question, who is a trader, had generally left the kids under the care of the suspects at whatever point she was away working. Sadly, the speculates took advantage of this to exploit the kids.
In the mean time, the suspects have been remanded in a Correctional Services Center as the case was suspended.
It is said that the suspects usually recieves their victims from their mother which he was paid to take care of them, as if their payments wasn' t enough, they took turns to defile the children including the 11- month- old baby.
The matter came to light after one of the victims exposed them when she was asked about the health of her state since she suddenly fell ill, the two were arrested and in the interrogation process, they confessed everything, a postmoterm exercise was conducted and it proved that the minors were truly defiled.
