AWA/IJEBU DAY: ABIODUN EXTENDS INVITATION TO INDIGENES IN THE DIASPORA

          The Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, has extended an invitation to indigenes of the State in the diaspora to join his administration in its stride to bring even development to all parts of the State.

    

      Abiodun gave this invitation at Awa-Ijebu, in Ijebu North Local Government Area during the 21st Awa-Ijebu day and fund-raising celebration, noting that development remained the collective duty of all and sundry.

     

      Represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Mr. Tokunbo Talabi, the State helmsman admonished other indigenes to also contribute their quota to their homestead, so as to reposition all sectors of the State economy.


          "Government is opening up the roads to make sure that everybody in Ijebu-North can get to anywhere without going to by-pass, this includes, Oru-Awa-Ilaporu-Mamu, Igan in Ago-Iwoye and Ilishan/Ago-Iwoye road which will start any moment from now”, he said.

      

    Earlier in his remarks, the Chairman of the occasion and Otunba Fiwaoye of Awa-Ijebu, Engr. Joseph Adegbesan solicited for financial support from indigenes both at home and in the diaspora towards the completion of Awa Civic Centre.


          On his part, the Limeri of Awa-Ijebu, Oba Habib Awobajo commended Prince Dapo Abiodun’s giant strides on infrastructural development, particularly, the road network within the Ijebu-North and its environs, which had boosted the economic development of the area.
