By Olawale Olayinka, Abeokuta

The founder of the Owu College Foundation and Executive Director of Owu College of Education, Dr. Samuel Aderemi Adekunle, has announced plans to honour 100 outstanding pupils drawn from 10 public primary schools across Ewekoro Local Government Area of Ogun State.

Dr. Adekunle made the announcement during the Foundation's maiden meeting held at the OWUTECH Conference Hall along Ogbere Road, Wasinmi, Ewekoro.

In his opening remarks, the Executive Director welcomed members and noted that the meeting would be brief.

Speaking on the vision of the Foundation, Dr. Adekunle stressed the importance of giving back to society, describing service to humanity as the true essence of a fulfilled life.

He reflected on the enduring legacy of his late father, late Pa Adekunle, whose mosque continues to serve the community years after his passing, urging members to strive for impactful and lasting contributions.

He explained that members of the Foundation were carefully selected based on their competence, integrity, and capacity to contribute meaningfully to the organisation's mission.

He subsequently confirmed the various offices assigned to members.

During the meeting, the following resolutions were reached:
The official inauguration of the Owu College Foundation will hold on Thursday, July 23, 2026, coinciding with the Executive Director's birthday, at the Multipurpose Hall of Owu College of Education. Ten pupils each from 10 selected public primary schools in Ewekoro Local Government Area—a total of 100 beneficiaries—will be invited to the inauguration and presented with educational gift items and awards.

The Foundation will mobilise funds through both internal and external sources to achieve its programmes and objectives.

A Board of Trustees will be constituted and officially announced in due course.
In his remarks, the Chairman of the Foundation, Mr. Tayo Olatunbosun, commended Dr. Adekunle for establishing the Foundation and urged members to see their appointments as an opportunity to serve humanity.

He pledged his commitment to working closely with other members to achieve the Foundation's vision and objectives.
