OPIC Begins Renovation of Corporate Headquarters to Boost Staff Welfare, Service Delivery

By Olawale Olayinka, Abeokuta

The Ogun State Property and Investment Corporation (OPIC) has commenced the comprehensive renovation of its corporate headquarters in Abeokuta as part of efforts to improve staff welfare, enhance operational efficiency, and strengthen service delivery to the public.
Speaking during an inspection of the ongoing renovation, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Housing and Managing Director of OPIC, Arc. Abiodun Fari-Arole, described the project as a strategic investment aimed at giving the Corporation's historic headquarters a modern facelift while bringing its facilities in line with contemporary workplace standards.

According to him, the renovation is a key component of OPIC's broader transformation agenda designed to reposition the Corporation as a forward-looking, innovative, and service-driven institution. He explained that beyond the physical upgrade of the building, the project is intended to provide a safe, conducive, and motivating work environment that will enhance staff productivity, promote employee well-being, and improve the quality of services delivered to the public.

Arc. Fari-Arole disclosed that the project includes the complete remodelling of the building's exterior and parts of its interior, installation of modern office facilities and equipment, upgrading of safety and security systems, and the replacement of the existing elevator, which has remained out of service for more than six years.

He noted that these improvements would significantly enhance accessibility within the building while creating a more functional, comfortable, and welcoming environment for staff, clients, business partners, and visitors.

The Managing Director emphasised that the renovation reflects OPIC's unwavering commitment to excellence, innovation, and operational efficiency, stressing that a modern workplace is essential for fostering creativity, collaboration, and improved engagement with stakeholders.

He assured stakeholders and members of the public that the renovation would not disrupt the Corporation's daily operations, adding that all services and business activities would continue uninterrupted throughout the duration of the project.

Arc. Fari-Arole reaffirmed OPIC's commitment to supporting the developmental vision of the Ogun State Government through sustained investment in modern infrastructure, institutional capacity building, and the delivery of efficient, customer-focused services to the people of Ogun State.
