Abiodun consensus candidates clear 9 federal house of representatives seat in Ogun

All the consensus candidates of Governor Dapo Abiodun for federal house of representative in the Saturday All Progressive Congress (APC) primaries election across the nine Federal Constituency in the Ogun State.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) conducted its House of Representatives primary election amid tight security and high participation from party delegates and supporters.

The primary election, which took place across various wards in the nine federal constituency in Ogun State attracted aspirants, party leaders, youth groups, and stakeholders.

Nine consensus candidates for Federal House of Representatives Abuja are; Ijebu North/Ijebu East/Ogun Waterside: Hon Joseph Adegbesan,  Ijebu Ode/Ijebu North East/Odogbolu: Hon Razak Daddah, Ikenne/Remo North/ Sagamu: Hon Funmi Efuwape, Abeokuta South: Hon Afuwape Afolabi, Abeokuta North/ Obafemi Owode/ Odeda: Hon Osoba Olumide, Ewekoro/Ifo: Hon Adijat Adeleye, Ipokia/Yewa South: Hon Dr Toyin Emmanuel Taiwo, Ado-Odo/Ota: Hon Ayobami Bashorun, Imeko Afon/Yewa North: Hon Gboyega Isiaka.

Addressing party members before the commencement of voting, APC officials called for unity, transparency, and peaceful conduct throughout the exercise. They stressed the importance of internal democracy in strengthening the party ahead of the general elections.

After the accreditation and voting process, delegates cast their votes to elect the party’s candidate for the House of Representatives seat. Electoral committee members supervised the exercise while security agencies maintained orderliness at the various venue across the Ogun State.

The returning officer for Abeokuta south federal constituency announced the results across constituency, Hon. Morufa Afolabi Afuape -12,633, Hon. Tolulope Fikayomi Philips - 760, Mr Akeem Ademolake - 227, Mr Abolore Sodirudeen Ayodeji - 215, Hon. Lanre Edun - 12 voted respectively and declared Hon. Moruf Afolabi Afuape as the winner and flag bearer for All Progressive Congress APC for Abeokuta south federal constituency election.

Speaking shortly after the announcement of results at ventinary hall Ake Abeokuta, Hon Morufa Afolabi Afuape thanked delegates and party leaders for their confidence and pledged to work for the development of the constituency if elected in the general elections.

The APC candidate also promised inclusive representation, improved infrastructure, youth empowerment, and support for policies that would enhance the welfare of the people.

Also Hon. Adebiyi Abiodun (JAGI) who is a party leaders in the state commended delegates for conducting themselves peacefully and urged all aspirants to remain united in the interest of the party.

Political observers described the exercise as orderly and successful, noting that the peaceful conduct of the primary election reflects the growing maturity of democratic processes within the APC.
