Ewekoro LG Holds 4th Annual Ramadan Lecture, Calls for Prayers for Nigeria’s Leaders and Unity Among Citizens

Ewekoro Local Government has held the 4th Edition of its Annual Ramadan Lecture, bringing together religious leaders, traditional rulers, political stakeholders and members of the Muslim community to reflect on the spiritual significance of the holy month and pray for continued peace and development in Ogun State and Nigeria.

The event, which was attended by Baales and traditional chiefs, APC leaders, Islamic scholars, members of staff, and Muslim faithful across the local government, served as a platform to encourage unity, spiritual reflection and support for government at all levels.

Speaking at the gathering, the leadership of the Local Government emphasized the importance of Ramadan as a period of self-discipline, spiritual rejuvenation, compassion for the less privileged and strengthening of faith in Almighty Allah. Muslims were encouraged to use the holy month to promote peace, love and mutual understanding within the society.

During the lecture, special prayers were offered for the Governor of Ogun State, Prince (Dr.) Dapo Abiodun CON, for his continued leadership and developmental strides across the state.

 Participants also prayed for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR, asking for divine guidance and wisdom as he continues efforts to address the nation’s economic challenges and strengthen national development.

The programme also highlighted the need for citizens to support government initiatives aimed at promoting growth, peace and stability in the country.

The Local Government further appreciated the League of Imams and Alfas, the planning committee, and members of the Muslim community for their commitment in organizing the annual lecture, describing the event as an important platform for spiritual guidance and communal harmony.

Stakeholders at the gathering also urged Nigerians to extend kindness, unity and generosity beyond the Ramadan period, noting that sustained peace and cooperation are essential for national progress.

The Annual Ramadan Lecture remains one of the key religious and community engagements organized by Ewekoro Local Government to strengthen the bond between government and the people while promoting moral and spiritual values.
