As Ogun State marks its Golden Jubilee, renowned industrialist and respected community leader, Chief Ibrahim Dende Egungbohun (IBD Dende), has called for a more inclusive, just, and equitable future for the state through the adoption of a well-structured rotational leadership system.
He stressed that such an arrangement must consciously address and correct certain age-long political invariables that have historically denied the good people of Ogun West Senatorial District their fair and rightful share in the leadership of the state.
Chief Egungbohun made this call in a goodwill message issued to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the creation of Ogun State.
In the message, the Chairman of IBD Impex Ltd and the Olu-Omo of Yewaland congratulated the Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapọ Abiodun, MFR, as well as the entire people of the state and key stakeholders, on the remarkable progress recorded over the past five decades.
He noted that Ogun State’s journey since its creation in 1976 has been defined by resilience, enterprise, and strategic development, driven by the collective efforts of successive administrations, private sector players, traditional institutions, and the citizenry.
According to him, the state’s reputation as Nigeria’s industrial hub and a centre of educational excellence is a testament to the vision and sacrifices of its founding fathers and succeeding generations.
While acknowledging these achievements, Chief Egungbohun emphasised the need for deliberate political inclusiveness to deepen unity and sustain development.
He specifically acknowledged the Paramount Ruler of Yewaland, His Royal Majesty, Oba Kehinde Olugbenle, MFR, alongside other royal fathers, technocrats, elder statesmen, and community leaders, for their continued guidance, wisdom, and contributions to peace and progress in Ogun State.
Chief Egungbohun concluded by urging all stakeholders—political leaders, traditional rulers, youths, and the private sector—to use the Golden Jubilee celebration as a moment of reflection and renewed commitment to building a more united, inclusive, and prosperous Ogun State for generations to come.

In his remarks at the commissioning sites, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Babatunde Kehinde, described the exercise as a clear manifestation of FUNAAB’s leadership-driven development philosophy, commending the Governing Council for its foresight and support for infrastructural advancement.
Dignitaries at the project sites included the Olowu of Owu Kingdom, HRM Oba (Prof.) Saka Adelola Matemilola, Oluyalo Otileta VII; members of the Governing Council; Principal Officers of the University; Deans and Directors and top government functionaries, as well as staff and students of the University.
