He siad “Today is not an ordinary day. Today, my heart is full. Today, I stand here looking at hundreds of lives about to be changed, and all I can say is: “Lord, I am grateful.”
“Let me tell you the story of Redemption Mission Group (RMG)– the real story that brings tears to my eyes every time I remember it.
“It started with the Dove Meeting, organised by loyalists of our own Rt. Hon. Daisi Olusegun Elemide, then an Honourable Member of the Ogun State House of Assembly. We gathered with loyalty, commitment and determinations in our hearts to support him. After one meeting, Rt. Hon. Elemide – the man we now proudly call Mr. Speaker – pulled me aside and said: “Oyekunle, go and form your own group. Build something separate.” Then he added the words that still touch my soul: “I have a group that I have been maintaining, and I don’t want it to die.” I asked, “Sir, what is the name?”
He said, “Redemption Mission Group – RMG.” right there, we adopted the name RMG. That selfless act – that generous sharing of a treasured name by a true leader who always thinks of others – became the solid foundation of everything you see today.
“Rt. Hon. Elemide, Sir, your wisdom, your kindness, your vision for youth and progress – we can never thank you enough. You planted the seed and told us to keep it alive.
“Today, that seed has become a mighty tree giving shade and fruit to hundreds.
We are forever grateful, Mr. Speaker Sir.
“From that day, Rt. Hon. Olumide Osoba accepted us with open arms. He has supported us, sponsored us, stood by us in rain and sunshine. His belief in RMG has never wavered for one day. Thank you, Rt. Hon. Olumide – you are a brother and a pillar. And then there is our father, Aremo Olusegun Osoba, Baba, where do I even start? When people looked down on us, you looked up and saw potential.
When others walked away, you drew us closer. You adopted me personally.
You adopted the group. )You corrected us with love, guides us with wisdom, and keep lifting us higher than we ever dreamed possible. Baba, because of you, a small boy from nowhere is standing here today.
“You gave us wings when we had no feathers. You gave us voice when we were silent. You gave us hope when we had none. Baba Olusegun Osoba, we will never stop thanking God for sending you to us. We will keep making you proud until our last breath.
“Today, we are here to give back to our people , we are here to put smiles on them, we are here to empower them with materials that will put on their tables. Today we are distributing motorcycles, tricycles, generators, cash grants, sewing machines, freezers, rabbit packs, and more – we are not just giving items. We are giving wings. We are giving renewed hope. We are bringing President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and Governor Dapo Abiodun’s ISEYA Agenda straight to the people. We are telling every beneficiary:
Rise!
He urged the beneficiaries of the empowerment programme to make use of materials and cash grants and not to sell any of the materials.
Meanwhile, Olumide Osoba in his remarks commended the group for organizing an empowerment programme, saying that this will go a long way in improving the lives of the beneficiaries.
He urged them not to relent, saying that he is proud of them.
The reps member specially lauded the efforts and commitment of Hon. Oyekunle in ensuring the group stands out.
Also the Speaker of Ogun State House of Assembly, Rt Hon. Oludaisi Elemide praised RMG for giving back to the people, saying that the State is proud of them.
