The Ogun State Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Hon. Motunrayo Adijat Adeleye , has reiterated the State Government’s commitment to promoting inclusion and protecting the rights of persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
She made this known during a courtesy and advocacy visit by the National President of the Association of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities in Nigeria (AIDDN), Mrs. Omotola Jokotola, and her team, to the Ministry in Abeokuta.
In a statement shared on her official Facebook page, Hon. Adeleye described the visit as “a heartwarming session and a moment of rich engagement and shared vision.”
According to the statement, the visiting team sought to deepen collaboration, create stronger public awareness on intellectual disabilities, and drive initiatives that promote inclusion, empowerment, and dignified living for persons with special needs.
Hon. Adeleye added:
“On behalf of the State Government, we reaffirmed our unwavering commitment to advancing inclusion, strengthening collaboration, and ensuring that no one is left behind in the pursuit of equal opportunities and social justice.”
The Commissioner commended AIDDN for its continuous advocacy and pledged that Ogun State will continue to strengthen policies and programs that protect vulnerable groups and expand equal access to education, healthcare, and community support services.
