Men of Community, Social Orientation and Safety Corps (So-Safe Corps), has arrested three suspected kidnappers who murder a 15 years old victims after collecting #500,000 ransom at Impala in Abeokuta North Local Government areas of Ogun State.
According to Director of Information and Public Relations of the Corps, Assistant Commander Moruf Yusuf, said in a statement issued to newsmen in Abeokuta.
He said, on Saturday, September 7, 2024, at about 1900hrs, information reached the Imala Division of the Corps regarding a kidnapping incident. A 15-year-old, Yahu Muhammad, was kidnapped, and a ransom of N500,000.00 was collected, but the suspects refused to release him."
The Special Squad of the Corps at Imala was deployed to rescue the victim unhurt. However, upon arrival at the kidnappers' den, Olodo Kara market along Anigbado-Idiemi road, the team discovered that the suspects had killed the victim despite collecting the ransom.
The suspects are: Umar Muhammad, 24 years old, Audu Muhammad, 22 years old, and Umar Danda, 22 years old.
Ganzallo further revealed that the victim was kidnapped and killed while rearing cattle in the Akara forest area. The cattle were left unattended.
Ganzallo commended the operatives of the Vigilante Group for their assistance in apprehending the third suspect, Umar Danda.
The victim's corpse and the apprehended kidnap suspects have been transferred to the Imala Divisional Police Headquarters for further investigation and prosecution.
