Akintoye/Sunday Igboho Deny Involvement In Invasion Of Oyo Govt Secretariat

By Our Correspondent

A Renowned Yoruba Nation activists, Sunday Adeyemo (popularly known as Sunday Igboho) and former Ilana Omo Oodua leader, Professor Banji Akintoye, have distanced themselves from the recent invasion of the Oyo State Government Secretariat.

Suspected Yoruba Nation agitators stormed the Oyo State Government Secretariat in Agodi, Ibadan, raising flags before being dispersed by police army personnel from Division 2.

In response to the incident, Igboho speaking through his media aide Olayemi Koiki in a Facebook Live session, expressed ignorance about the invasion, emphasizing that rallies are typically announced in advance. He clarified that those responsible for the invasion do not represent the Yoruba Nation cause.

Similarly, Akintoye corroborated Igboho’s stance, pointing fingers at separatist leader Abiola Onitiri as the mastermind behind the Oyo state incident. He condemned the disruptive actions, emphasizing that such behavior is not aligned with the Yoruba self-determination movement.
