The Executive Chairman of Ewekoro Local Government, has enjoined the forum of Obas in the Local Government to extend hand of fellowship to the new Olu of Wasinmi, as this will go a long way in giving him a strong footing on the throne.

Hon Adesina Sikiru Adisa made the statement during the official installation and presentation of staff of office to the new Olu of Wasinmi, His Royal Majesty, Oba Sufianu Sunday Adisa Jolaosho, SOLUDERO 1, held in Wasinmi.

In the same vein, the council’s helmsman, strongly appealed to sons and daughters of Wasinmi, both home and in diaspora to rally round the amiable Kabiyesi in order to move Wasinmi forward, “so that in no distant time, Wasinmi would witness unprecedented development”, Adesina said.

According to the Chairman,” No doubt, Wasinmi is a peaceful and politically active community in Ewekoro Local Government and has produced illustrious sons and daughters of repute, who have excelled and made their marks in all spheres of human endeavour.”

“The new Olu of Wasinmi is a well known person, who has an impeccable character because I have never heard of any negative remark about him. He is a progressive individual, who has contributed immensely to the development of Wasinmi and Ewekoro Local Government at large,” the Chairman stated.

Hon Adesina, took time to express his appreciation, on behalf of the people of Wasinmi and the entire Ewekoro Local Government Area to the Ogun State Governor, His Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun, CON, for his consistency and truthfulness in approving and assenting to the appointment of Olu of Wasinmi, ” I say a big thank you sir.”

The Local Govt boss, also extended his gratitude to the Egba-Ake clan of Wasinmi, the king makers and the well – meaning sons and daughters of Wasinmi for their peaceful and enviable approval to the emergency of Oba Sufianu Sunday Adisa Jolaosho as the new Olu of Wasinmi, while a great deal of his appreciation goes to the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs and Ministry of Justice in ensuring that no stone  was left unturned in carrying out their official duties on the matter.

” My appreciation will be incomplete if I do not appreciate our Royal Father, His Royal Majesty, Oba Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo, CFR, the Alake and Paramount Ruler of Egbaland for his fatherly role and valuable advice to the Wasinmi Traditional Council of Chiefs when they were at a crossroad,” the chairman said.

Hon Adesina, therefore, used the occasion to appeal to all residents of the council area to continue to assist his administration by paying the appropriate levies and rate in order to boost council’s revenue generation.

” I wish to assure the good people of Ewekoro Local Government that as government, we are fully committed and prepared to implement policies and programmes that are designed to reduce poverty, uplift the welfare and standard of living of our people, though we are not unmindful of the several limitations of the available resources, especially funds that are essential in carrying out these objectives,”  the Chairman declared.

The Ogun State Governor, His Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun, CON, speaking through the Honourable Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon Ganiyu Hamzat congratulated Oba Sufianu Sunday Adisa Jolaosho, the Olu of Wasinmi, Warrant Chiefs and the entire people of Wasinmi on the memorable occasion.

” Permit me, to salute with respect, the Alake and paramount ruler of Egbaland, Kabiyesi Alayeluwa , Oba Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo, CFR, for His Royal Majesty’s role in making today’s event a reality.

” It is imperative to apprised the good people of Wasinmi that the choice of our new Oba, Oba Sufianu Sunday Adisa Jolaosho is one that follows due process.

“What you are witness today is therefore the last stage of a process, which complied strictly with the requirements of relevant sections of Oba and Chiefs Law, Laws of Ogun State, 2021 and in accordance with the customs and tradition of Wasinmi Community,”  the governor stated.

“As one of the three recognized chieftaincy recently approved by the State Executive Council, the appointment of Oba Sufianu Sunday Adisa Jolaosho had overwhelming support of his people,” the governor revealed.

Prince Abiodun, therefore, urged the contending parties to sheath their swords, embrace peace and unite with the Kabiyesi in order to move Wasinmi Community forward.

” The call for peace, unity and cooperation from different quarters is necessary for your common good, because a house divided against itself will never stand,” Abiodun reinstated.

He therefore enjoined the new Kabiyesi to take advantage of the royal throne for the betterment of the people and by so doing, would be seen to have stamped his footprint on the sand of time.

The highlight of the event was the presentation of staff of office and instrument of appointment to Oba Sufianu Sunday Adisa Jolaosho as the Olu of Wasinmi, while also commiting Kabiyesi’s reign to the hands of Almighty God and prayed for peace and prosperity in Wasinmi Community in particular, Egbaland and indeed , Ogun State in general.
