Breaking: Dapo Abiodun Confirm Oba Suffian Jolaosho as new Oniwasinmi of Wasinmi

The Ogun State Government has confirmed the nomination of Oba Suffian Jolaosho as the new Oniwasinmi of Wasinmi land situated in Ewekoro local government of Ogun State.

 The approval and confirmation of the new monarch has just been approved by Prince Dapo Abiodun on Monday evening 23rd of October, 2023.

Oba Jolaosho emerged as second Oniwasinmi of Wasinmi after the demised of late Oba Emmanuel Babatunde Osuntogun on December 13th, 2021 after his reign for 18 years on the throne as the pioneer Oba of on Wasinmi of Wasinmi land. 

On December 12, 2022,  Oba Suffian Jolaosho emerged victoriously in the election that was  conducted by Local government officials and Wasinmi Kingmakers which was ably led by High Lawrence Olusoji Ilori, the Balogun of Wasinmi land at Ewekoro Council secretariat, Itori.

The latest Monarch defeated other contestants in election. Those who contested the Obaship with him include;  Barr. Sola Enitan, Chief Hamend Yekini (Baale Kenta Akun), Prince Taiwo Oluwaseun Ogunbona and others.

There had been a vacuum as there was no Oba in Wasinmi  because there was no substantial Commissioner in the Ministry Of local government and chieftaincy affairs in Oke Mosan, Abeokuta, that will present it to the state governor. 

The new Oba in his response to the  confirmation of his nomination, returned all  thanks, glory, honour and adoration to the God Almighty for sparing his life to witness this glorious day of his life.

He thanked the government of Ogun State, Wasinmi Kingmakers and chiefs and the entire Wasinmi Community for the rare privilege bestowed to him as second Oniwasinmi of Wasinmi land.

He promised to continue to be good, nice, accommodating and God fearing man which he is largely known for. He likewise vowed that he would use all his connections from many years of working at the Aviation industry to develop Wasinmi and his environs.

He commended the residents of Wasinmi for being peaceful, accommodating and enterprising people who have positive mindsets for growth and development. He called on all and sundry to continue to be good ambassadors of the community.
