As part of their desire to give back to the Society, the Tobalase Okunrin Akile Ijebu worldwide has renovated 2 blocks of 4 classrooms and donated over 120 Decks and Chairs for the use of the pupils at Imososi Methodist Primary School, Ago-Iwoye in Ijebu North Local Government Area of Ogun State.
The renovation of the 2 blocks of 4 classrooms was done as part the Egbes Corporate Social Responsibility CSR to commemorate the 10th year Anniversary of the Age Grade.
Speaking at the event, the Chairman of Ijebu North, Hon. Bolaji Odusanya said it is an honour this is happening in Ijebu North Local Government.
In his word" It is a joy that Egbe Tobalase Okunrin Akile Ijebu worldwide have done us this privileged by considering Ago Iwoye in Ijebu North for this project.This is indeed laudable.
"This Cooperate Social Responsibility from Egbe Tobalase Okunrin Akile Ijebu to the society will enhance teaching and learning process, the students community would be greatly appreciative of this gesture. On behalf of the pupils, we say a big thank you for executing this project." The council Boss said.
While giving his key note address, the Ebumawe of Ago-Iwoye, Oba Abdulrazaq Adenugba said this project is a testament to development and contribution to Ago-Iwoye town by the Egbe Tobalase Okunrin Akile Ijebu worldwide.
"This has shown that the Age Grade is changing the narrative of what the Regberegbes were known for in the past. This is highly commendable and I call on other Egbes across the Ijebuland to emulate this good gesture.They have not only renovated the blocks of classrooms but Equip it with quality Desks and Chairs for conducive learning." The kabiyesi said.
Speaking earlier, the Giwa Egbe Tobalase Okunrin, Giwa Abdulazeez Abiola Alausa said the Age Grade has made it mandatory to give back to the Society on a yearly basis noting that this is not the first project the Egbe would be embarking on, there have been series of projects that had been done by the Age group such as renovation of blocks of Toilets at Omu Ajose Comprehensive High School, Omu Ijebu, visitation to Motherless Homes, Scholarship to Students,Renovation Toilets at the Central Mosque Ijebu Ode, provision of medical outreach for over 1000 people on Hapatitise amongst others.
In his remark, the headteacher of Imososi Methodist Primary School, Ago-Iwoye, Mr Bello Olugbenga said the renovation of the block of Classrooms is a robust mechanism towards the improvement of education standard.
