Joint security night guard arrested two thieves who specialist in robbing shops in Abeokuta

Men of Ogun State Police Command has arrested two thieves who specialized in looting shops and homes around Oke -Ejigbo, Ijaiye areas of Abeokuta.

Ogun State Police Command stated this in a press statement Abeokuta.

Odutola explained that several complainants has repeatedly reported to CSP Hadiza Abu Oganyi about the incessant breaking and entry into their shops, and homes, without clue or link to the masterminds behind the wreck,that has continued at Oke Ejigbo, until today, 20th August 2023 when intelligence was exchanged by one Commander Lawal Mudashiru "m" a SO SAFE CORPS based on the reliable source one Kolawole Shobowale "m"  and Moruf Soyoye "m"  were apprehended at Oke Ejigbo today 20th August 2023 at about 0630hrs.

According to the suspected thieves they have confessed to the crime, of breaking and entry into a dwelling house, and other houses but unfortunately three of them were sighted  by the SO SAFE Commander one escaped, one was seen moving with blood stain on his legs while carrying a live Turkey, the SO SAFE team trailed them to their houses and cordoned off the house, leading to the arrest of the above suspects, and found in that same house the following items suspected to be properties belonging to victims they looted. 

The following items recovered  were found in the house by SO SAFE team, one Live Turkey, one plasma TV,  two speakers,  one socket extention, two hand saw, three remote control, three liters of vegetable oil, two kegs of 5 liters palm oil, 25 liters of vegetable oil, half bag of rice, one School bag containing clothes, two standing fans, one GOTV,  three mouth spanner, one pack of Olive toothpaste,  three Oral B toothpaste, Bags containing used provisions, one big pack of Sunlight detergent , 21 pieces of new clothes in sack, 67 pieces of clothes inside sack, 

And17 pieces of new clothes inside sack, 13 pieces of new clothes in a travelling bag, 5 sachets of macaroni and raw beans, 4 sachets of Idomie, Hammers and one screw driver, Power bank, one bucket containing assorted provisions and insecticide, one bucket containing assorted soaps, one speaker, one woofer music engine, one Samsung Dvd and one LG Dvd, one electronic cooker, one Infinix phone and one Techno Spark phone and one Infinix Hot Phone with two small Itel batteries. 

Members of the community have continued to throng the Oke Itokun Division to identify some of their items that have been stolen months back without any clue pointing towards the innocent looking suspected criminals. Many may want to attribute these wreck to hunger, but their ages of being above Eighteen years will not absolve them, neither exonerate them of the criminality, all that will be for the determination of the Court

The matter will be transfered to the State Criminal Investigation Department for more details and further charge the two to Court and will also trace the other fleeing suspects.
