Ogun State Students Inaugurate Campaign Committee For Gov. Abiodun’s Re-election

Students of tertiary institutions across Ogun State on Sunday, inaugurated a 62-member campaign committee to mobilize penetrate the nooks and crannies of the state towards ensuring electoral victory for the state governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun.

The event held at the state secretariat of Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) in Abeokuta, the state capital had in attendance, the Rector, Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Abeokuta, Dr. Adeoye Odedeji, as well as APC Publicity Secretary in the state, Mr. Tunde Oladunjoye and other top government functionaries.

Addressing the mammoth students gathering, the Special Assistant to the Governor on Student’s Matters, Amoo Azeez Adeyemi said the mandate of the campaign committee was to have direct engagement with the electorate and mobilize massively for the re-election of the governor.

Adeyemi urged the committee under the umbrella of Dapo Abiodun Students Campaign Organization (DASCO) to peacefully embark on their engagement in accordance with INEC’s laid down guidelines.

He, however, assured that the campaign group would leverage on the large percentage of students in the registered voters list by INEC.

In their separate goodwill messages, the Rector of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Abeokuta, Dr. Adeoye Odedeji urged the students to move house-to-house and campaign aggressively to ensure the governor is re-elected.

According to the Governor Liaison Officer in Remo North, Prince Abiola Ogundeko enjoined the students to go out enmass and do intellectual activities that is properly and well articulated.

Ogundeko appealed to the campaign committee to engage the electorate on issue based discourse without sentiment.

He, however, admonished them to assist Governor Abiodun’s administration at documenting any negative issues raised by oppositions.

In his acceptance speech, the Chairman, Dapo Abiodun Students Campaign Organization (DASCO), Comrade Edunjobi Hazeez said the governor’s ability to identify best hands to manage the students constituency, endeared them to work for his re-election.

He called on all other students in the state to join hands with the group and propagate the activities of the governor around all campuses.

Highlight of the inauguration includes presentation of campaign buses to the group.
