A year ago the cradle of Journalism in Nigeria, Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Ogun State Council was thrown into tumour on the sudden passing of its chairman, Comrade Soji Samson Amosu after a brief illness.

Today, November 20 marks a year and members of the noble profession, gathered for a special Church service in remembrance of their demised leader at Antioch Baptist Church, Bode Olude, Abeokuta, Ogun state.

Inspite of the fact that Late Amosu administered Nigeria Union of Journalists, Ogun Council at a troubled time; a time the union was enmeshed in unhealthy leadership rivalry, he exhibited a high degree of quality leadership that kept it together.

His dexterous vision, strives and drives espoused him as a team play, a lover of peace, sensitive, and developmentally oriented leader. His approachability, amiability, accessibility made his demise irreparable.

Amosu was dependable resourceful and forward looking and a selfless man who fought so assiduously and conscientiously to his last breadth in order to keep the union together.
