ADC Commends INEC For Prompt Relocation Of Staff

By Yetunde Oluwo, Abeokuta

The African Democratic Party (ADC) has eulogised the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for the prompt relocation of the Staff of INEC office in Abeokuta South Local Government which was completely razed by hoodlums on 10th November 2022.

This was contained in a press statement signed by Hon. Idowu Adeleye State Publicity Secretary (PRO) African Democratic Party (ADC) Ogun State Chapter.

Adeleye, explained that the decision to move the INEC staff to the INEC Office annex in Oke-Ilewo, Abeokuta, was announced in Abuja on Friday by the INEC National Chairman, Professor Mahmood Yakubu.

The ADC said the relocation is a demonstration of INEC's preparedness to deal with, and overcome the challenges it is facing towards the 2023 elections

. "We are elated by INEC's prompt action. It sends a message that the enemies of democracy and those who intend to thwart the peaceful conduct of 2023 election in Ogun State won't be allowed to have their way", the ADC stated.

The ADC had earlier condemned the attack on the Abeokuta South Office of INEC, accusing politicians afraid of losing re-election in the state of masterminding it.
