OGSG ENDS TWO-YEAR BLACKOUT IN REMO NORTH, LIGHTS UP OBA COMMUNITY

Ogun State Government through the Bureau of Electrical Engineering Services, has given a new 300KVA 33/0.415KV transformer, to Isara community in Remo North Local Government Area of the State,  to end the two-year blackout in the area.

Reacting to the gesture, during an interview with journalists, the Chairman of the council area, Hon. Adedapo Odunsi, commended  Governor Dapo Abiodun for taking the community out of darkness.

Odunsi described the development as a good omen that would bring succor to the people, and enhance their business activities, saying, “people in this area had suffered hardship in the last two years as a result of the blackout being experienced”, pledging continued support for the present administration.

In his remark, the Government Liaison Officer, Remo North Local Government, Omoba Abiola Ogundeko said the gesture would put an end to the difficulty that had been inflicted on the health and work of the residents, as well as the security of lives and property in the community, appreciating the effort of the Governor for addressing the plight of the people in the area.

Speaking with a resident, Mrs. Dorcas Fajobi, who also showered an encomium for the step taken by the State government on the provision of the transformer, said it would restore power supply to the community.

Meanwhile, the Ogun State Government has delivered and installed another 300KVA 33/0.415KV transformer in Oba/Eerin community, Obafemi Owode Local Government Area.

Speaking on behalf of the community members, the Olu of Oba/Eerin, Oba Abdul-Ganiyu Sanyaolu, expressed gratitude to Governor Abiodun for his timely response to their needs, stating that “Engineers have installed the transformer at no cost, while the cables and other equipment were brought in free of charge".

Also reacting to the development, two of the residents, Mrs. Ife Akinsola and Mr. Abiodun Badmus, said the community had witnessed a total blackout for almost a year and this had greatly affected their source of livelihood.

The duo applauded the efforts of the Governor in alleviating their suffering, and the provision of infrastructural development across the State, saying people in the area would sustain their loyalty to the administration.
