GOV. ABIODUN HAS JUSTIFIED HIS MANDATE – INFO. COMMISSIONER

By Our Correspondent

Ogun State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Alhaji Waheed Odusile says the State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun has justified his mandate and will continue to deliver on the promises made to the people, as more dividends of democracy will be provided.

Odusile made the disclosure in Abeokuta, while fielding questions from newsmen saying, his landmark achievements are pointers that the Governor is keeping to the promises made when he assumed office in 2019.

He noted that many abandoned projects of previous administrations that have direct bearing and economic benefits on the people have also been attended to.

Speaking on some of the achievements in the past three years, the Commissioner stated that the Infrastructural projects, which include, Atan - Agbara - Lusada, Ijebu-Ode-Epe, Sagamu Interchange - Kobape - Abeokuta, Owode - Ilaro and Panseke - Adigbe - Opako roads, and others have received the attention of government and opened up the areas for industrial activities.

He added that Governor Abiodun had constructed and renovated over 100 health care facilities across the State, to enable all the 236 wards to have at least one functional Primary Health Care centre, noting that the administration had also purchased 40 ambulance vehicles, to improve emergency health care services.

According to him, “the government has completed and delivered over 1000 affordable housing units in less than three years, and this has outnumbered the total housing units constructed by previous administrations”.

Reeling out the achievements in the education sector, the Commissioner said, "we have renovated and constructed over 1000 blocks of classrooms, while more teachers have been employed in primary and secondary schools, as well as technical colleges through Ogun TEACH programme.

‘’On Agriculture, the administration of Prince Abiodun has massively invested and keyed into the Federal Government and Central Bank of Nigeria programmes, which has helped youths to be gainfully employed and made the State retain its position as the largest producer of cassava and poultry in the country”, he said.

Odusile pointed out that the government is not paying lip service to security issues with the purchase of security gadgets for officers, the inauguration of Amotekun security outfit, and the launch of joint security called OP Mesa, among others.
