Attacks and killing of over 50 worshipers in Owo Catholic Church is Barbaric - Alawowo of Awowo condemns the actions

Oba Olasumkanmi Tijani Alawowo of Awowo Owu land has condemns the gruesome attack and killing of over 50 worshippers at the St. Francis Catholic Church, Owo-luwa, Owo, Ondo State, last Sunday is a sour taste to every reasonable human across the world.

The traditional rulers, describe the unprovoked killings as barbaric is to underscore the spate of evil, wickedness and callousness currently painting the length and breadth of the Nation.

He said, It is regrettable that the Owo massacre occurred exactly One year after scores of innocent people were murdered in their sleep at Igangan, Oyo State, by yet -to- be apprehended "gunmen".

"It is equally sad that governments at all levels have failed to secure the lives and property of the people,  yet, the journey and process to 2023 are their priority now".

Also, Leading opinion is to the believe that the attacks and killings, especially in the South West, are to trigger vendetta and reprisal actions to cause national strife. Unconfirmed reports point to a current apprehension and fear of reprisals among Northerners resident in the Southern Nigeria.

"Let it be known that history will never forget and forgive privileged men who does nothing in the face of tyranny.
My heart goes out to the families of worshippers killed at St. Francis Catholic Church, Owo and condoles with the Church, the Olowo-in-Council and the Government and People of Ondo State.
May the souls of the departed find peace with their Creator".
