COMMUNITY APPAEL TO GOVERNOR ABIODUN FOR MOTORABLE ROADS

A call has gone to the State Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun to provide a motorable roads at Arakanga in Abeokuta North Local Government Area in particular road leading to Iberekodo General hospital down to Federal University of Agriculture (FUNAB) to aid economic development in the State.

The Immediate past Chairman of Nigerian Union of Petrolium and Natural Gas workers( NUPENG) and Current Vice Chairman of Nigeria Labour Congress(NLC) Lagos State Chapter, Alhaji Adetokunbo Korodo made the call at the Fund raising for the Abeokuta North Zonal Community Development Committee held at Arakanga in Abeokuta.

Korodo said the people living in that axis of the State deserved Government attention and a durability road to boost economic activities, adding that the Community development Association in the area are trying their best through self help to ensure  they bring meaningful development in the area.

Also speaking the Permanent Secretary, Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM) Dr. Abdulwaheed Olanloye who was bestowed the patron of the Abeokuta North Zonal Community Development said government alone cannot shoulder the responsibility, saying that the best way to attrack government attention is for the CDAs to embark on developmental projects that would qualify them for State Government grant.

Olanloye however used the opportunity to urge community leaders, parents and guardian to join hands in crusade against truancy and bad behavior of students and parents beating up teachers and school administrators in the State, saying that any students caught in such act would  be sanctioned

Earlier in his welcome address the Chairman Abeokuta North Zonal Community Development Committee (ANZCDC) Chief Ajagunjeun Kazeem Ayoola while appreciating the State Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun for embarking on rural roads construction, he urged him to enlist and complete the ongoing bridge at Abeokuta North and in particular the road linking arakanga water cooperation, Iberekodo General hospital down to FUNAB.

Ajagunjeun said the Community has embarked on several self help projects such as training and empowered of over 500 Youths and women on skills acquisition program, constructed a customized podium for ACDC, facilitated 44 Community Practitioners to attend International Conference sponsored by International Organization for Immigration IOM in conjunction with NAPTIP and NOA, creating additional four CDAs to the already established eight on ground for more grassroots development, distribution of facemasks across the eleven CDAs to guide against the spread of COVID-19 to mention but a few.
