OGUN INFORMATION MINISTRY STEPS UP EFFORT ON USE OF ICT

  The Ogun State Ministry of Information and Strategy has stepped-up effort to ensure that Information Officers are more conversant with the use of Information and Communication Technology (ICT), to further project the policies and programmes of the Prince Dapo Abiodun led administration.

 The Director, Planning, Research and Statistics in the Ministry, Mr. Lanre Ogunyinka who declared open a day training in Abeokuta, for the officers in the ICT and New Media Department of the Ministry with the theme, "Operations and Use of Projectors in the 21st Century", said the initiative would improve the capacity of officers, especially in the use of projector device for public presentations.

Ogunyinka stated that technological advancement had made new media a point of interest to both young and old, noting that the Ministry would not relent on its oars to make Information Officers ICT compliant, commending the effort of the department and urged the participants to apply the knowledge gained in their various schedule of duties. 

 In her welcome address, Alhaja Ewedairo-Yusuf said the training was essential to build the capacity of officers to disseminate information effectively, particularly on the activities of Ministries, Departments and Agencies of government.

 "The department of ICT and New Media has taken it upon itself to train its officers and in turn train others, so, it becomes general knowledge.

 This will help the Ministry in its plan to show documentaries on the activities of the present administration across the 20 Local Government Areas of the State’’, Ewedairo-Yusuf said.

 The Coordinator, New Media and Website Unit, Mrs. OluwaSeun Boye who spoke on behalf of other participants, appreciated the management of the Ministry, saying activities of the government would receive a boost through the training
