Obasanjo, Alake want Segun Odegbami to Joined Oniwasinmi Obaship stool

Barely three months after the demise of His Royal Majesty, Oba Dr Emmanuel Babatunde Osuntogun, Oniwasinmi of Wasinmi, some notable sons and daughters of of Egbaland have been appealing to to former Super Eagle ex-captain, Chief Segun Odegbami to Joined the Obaship race.

The late traditional ruler of the land joined his ancestors on Monday 13th of December, 2021 while his remains was laid to rest on 24th of December, 2021. After the death of the late King, Wasinmi community observed seven day Obaship burial rites and stayed at home from Monday 13th - Sunday 19th of December, 2021 from 10pm till 4am in the morning.

Immediately upon the completion of the burial rites,  the Oniwasinmi in Council zone the new Oniwasinmi of Wasinmi to Egba Ale so as to produce the next candidate that will occupy the vacant Stool of Oniwasinmi.

 The Regent in Council is High Chief Olori Lawrence Olusoji, Balogun of Wasinmi land and head of Egba Ale, dynasty of Wasinmi.

The former President Olusegun Aremu Obasanjo and Oba Dr Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo, Alake and Paramount Ruler Of Egbaland have been lobbying the ministry of local government and Chieftaincy affairs, Oke Mosan Abeokuta and Ewekoro Local Government, Itori to ensure that Mathematician Segun Odegbami becomes the next Oniwasinmi of Wasinmi from Egba Oke-Ona.

Chief Segun Odegbami who was a former Super Eagle ex captain, CEO Segun Odegbami International College and Sport Academy and the Proprietor School Wasinmi in Ewekoro Local Government areas of Ogun State Nigeria.

While contacted, Hon. Adesina Sikiru Adisa (ASA) the Executive chairman of Ewekoro Local Government, said he had received some calls about who becomes next Oniwasinmi of Wasinmi. "But I always asked them to allow Wasinmi in Council and the Kingmaker to follow normal procedure In other to avoid Obaship crisis and to avoid court cases " he said.

While commending High Chief Lawrence Olusoji Olori, Balogun of Wasinmi and regency for his maturity played during the process and for allowing peace to reign in the town since the demised of Late Oba Osuntogun joined his ancestors.

Furthermore, when Chief Sunday Toriola was contacted, he who is among  the Kingmaker and also doubles as Oganla of Wasinmi land, he  said, Chief Segun Odegbami was the son of the soil and a member of Oniwasinmi in Council.  He had Chief Odegbami has never for ones signified interest in becoming Oba of Wasinmi Community from Egba Oke-Ona.
