The Ogun State Chapter of the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees, under the leadership of Comrade Olatunji AYUBA, has commenced the celebration of the 2021 edition of the NULGE WEEK.
The week-long event was flagged off last Friday with a Jumat Service and Press Interviews by the State President.
The event according to a release from the State Treasurer of the Union, and Chairman, Central Planning Committee for the week, Comrade Amos AJAYI, continues on Tuesday, 7th December, 2021, with a ROADWALK ON LOCAL GOVERNMENT AUTONOMY. The walk will take the local government employees to the Ogun State House of Assembly.
Also on same day, the opening ceremony/anniversary lecture will hold at the NLC Hall, Leme, Abeokuta, commencing from 11am.
The anniversary will be formally declared open by the Chairman, Local Government Service Commission, Ogun State, Barr. Olubukunola ONABANJO, while the Director, Management Services of the Local Government Service Commission, Ogun State, Comrade Lekan ODERINDE; and Director, Personnel Management, Bureau of Local Government Pensions, Comrade Akinbobola ADULOJU, will present papers at the event, which is expected to have in attendance, Commissioners; and Directors of the Commission.
Also expected to attend the event are the NULGE National President, Comrade Akeem AMBALI; NULGE Southwest States Presidents and Secretaries; Past Presidents of NULGE, as well as NLC and TUC State Chairmen from Ogun State.
On Wednesday, 8th December, the Celebration continues with a sporting event holding at the Alake Sports Centre, Ikeja, by 10am.
This will be followed by an AWARD/GALA Nite holding by 5pm later in the day, at the Ball Room of the Conference Hotel, IBB Boulevard, Oke mosan, Abeokuta.
The night which will also feature fundraising for the completion of New NULGE Secretariat, will have in attendance, the Governor of Ogun State, His Excellency, Prince Dapo ABIODUN MFR; Honourable Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Afolabi AFUAPE; former Governor of Ogun State, His Excellency, Otunba Gbenga DANIEL; Chairman, Local Government Service Commission,.Ogun State; Barr. Olubukunola ONABANJO; NULGE National President, Comrade Akeem AMBALI, and other Very Important Personalities
High point of the week-long celebration, is the GRAND-FINALE, holding on Thursday, 9th December, 2022, at the MKO International Stadium, Kuto, Abeokuta.
Members will be treated to March-past, Cultural Displays, Music from a Live Band, among other funs during the day.
The NULGE WEEK will be rounded-off with a Thanksgiving Service holding at the Cathedral Church of St. Peter's (Anglican Communion), Ake, Abeokuta, on Sunday, 12th December, 2021.
