Ogun govt shifts 2nd term resumption date to Jan 10

By Our Correspondent

After days of speculation, Ogun State Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Prof Abayomi Arigbabu on Thursday announced January 10, 2022 as the new 2nd term resumption date for primary, secondary and technical colleges in the state.

The schools had gone on first term break on Friday, December 10 and were told to resume for the second term of the 2021/2022 academic session on Tuesday, January 4.

However, a statement from the Commissioner for Education, Prof Abayomi Arigbabu disclosed the extension of the holiday by one week.

He said the schools will now resume on Monday, January 10 and that the extension of the resumption by one week was necessitated by series of pre-resumption activities put up by the Ministry to further reposition education in the state.

He said part of the pre-resumption activities involve the students and their parents or guardians to visit their schools between Tuesday, January 4 and Monday 10 to sign undertaking of willingness to abide by the laid down rules and regulation while also supporting and enforcing discipline in schools.
