Mammoth crowd gathered and cheered on what became a spectacul of a novelty match at St. James Primary School, Osi Ota as Civil Servants cruised past the honourable Councilors of Ado Odo/ Ota Local Government by one goal to nil.
The match which was organised by the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) Ado Odo/Ota Local Government chapter kicked-off at exactly 5pm where the Civil Servants spotted in green and white stripes kick-started the match against the honourable Councilors in blue and white stripes.
The Match lived up to the set expectations of a novelty match as the mammoth crowd were treated to a spectacular comic reliefs on display by the future super super eagles and Golden super Golden unprofessionally kitted men slogged it out with each other on the field.
Both teams had a slow build up into the game, however, not five minutes into it the Honourable Councilors tactically rendered the defense of a Civil Servants helpless for the entire half, by the second half, however, the Civil Servants rose up to the challenge and took advantage of the lapses in the defence line of the Honourables by attacking it ruthlessly
Twenty minutes on, the defense of the Honourables broke down allowing the stricker of the Civil Servants to have a one-on-one with the keeper which he converted to score the lone goal of the match.
The leader of the house, Honourable Mrs. Bukola Balogun who was the chief coach leader of the honourable's team was not so pleased with the results.
In her view, the better team lost but in the spirit of unity she accepted the result.
It was cheers and fun fair at the end of it all, the spectators, the participants, the technical crews and spectators around enjoyed a thrilling sporting performance.
