Federal Lawmaker fixed bridge that link three Community together

By Our Correspondent

Members of federal house of  representatives Abuja, representing IjebuNorth, Ijebu North/East and Ogun waterside Federal Constituency has constructed a bridge link Ogbe river with others Communities.

Hon. AbdulMajid Adesegun Adekoya popularly called attacker, who was Deputy Minority Whip facilitate the reconstruction and full asphalting laying.

Hon Adekoya said, it's very important for us as a government to fixed the road because without the bride, Ijebu Ife would have been cut into two. Oke Ife, the cradle, would have been cut off from the major part, which are Iwade, Ishapodo, Itako, Isensi, Odoladalepo

"Ogbe is the usual Ijebu name reserved for the many streams around us. This one is in Isensi part of Ijebu Ife. It runs from Igan, Isire, Ikija through Owu, Togumaga in Mushin to Tajala and Okeliwo in Oke Ife before moving to Isensi, Idofe and Igbodu before emptying into River Osun, which cuts through the Shagamu/Benin Expressway".

The bridge is key for us as it also aids transportation around the town. There are about 3 major schools, which depend on that route for their students to get to school: Ijebu Ife Community Grammar School, Ibelu, Baptist Primary School, Ibelu, Moslem Primary School, Idofe, St. Raphael Primary School, Isensi and Prowess College, Tajala among others.

Our major market in the whole of Ijebu Ife is almost gone because it is just about 200 metres from the bridge, and the major route for traders passes along the corridor of the bridge. Market women have been abadoning the market to go to other places, which is bad for the economy of Ijebu Ife.
