A loaded tanker with Premium Motor Spirit popularly called petrol had early this morning overturned and had started spilling its contents on the road.
The incident according to the information released by the Public Relations Officer, Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps, Mr Babatunde Akinbiyi, occurred around 4.45am at Oju Irin, Lafenwa inbound Rounder in Abeokuta.
He said trans-loading of the remaining content had commenced.
Akinbiyi thus appealed to the general public, particularly the motoring public, domiciled or moving around the axis to remain calm and co-operative by avoiding scooping of fuel, use of handset and cooking gas so as not to spark off a fire.
Moreover, he advised the motoring public going inward Rounder axis from Lafenwa, to make use f Olomore and Oke-Ata axis respectively as alternative routes, since traffic has been diverted towards that axis presently.
